Fountain pen display cases with built-in LED lighting, handmade in our workshop in Italy from solid tulipwood and birch with Italian velvet lining and 3 mm glass. Models are available for 13 or 20 pens, including one with an adjustable 45° tilt. Almost all are individually numbered and come with a certificate of authenticity, and custom sizes are also available on request.
13 or 20 pens, flat or tilted
The right choice depends on how many pens you want to display under light at once and where the case will sit. A compact unit works well on a desk or bookshelf; the tilted version angles the pens towards the viewer, which suits a shop counter or display table.
| Model | Capacity and size | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Compact LED pen display case | 13 pens, 37×21 cm | The best pieces in a collection, on a desk or cabinet |
| Large LED pen display case | 20 pens, 56.5×21 cm | A larger collection, at home or in a shop window |
| Tilting LED pen display case | 20 slots, adjustable tilt to 45° | Shop counters, fairs, or tables where pens are viewed from above |
| Custom pen display case | To your specification | When no standard size fits your collection or available space |
What the built-in lighting adds
The integrated LEDs illuminate the pens from inside the case: nibs, lacquer finishes, clips and engravings are clearly visible even in the evening or in a darker corner of a room or shop. It is the difference between storing a pen and truly showing it off. If you simply want to keep your pens organised and in view without lighting, take a look at the wooden pen display cases.
How they are made
- Solid wood — tulipwood and birch, worked by hand.
- Italian velvet lining inside, available in several colours; the colour shown in the photos — such as light avion blue — is indicated on each product page.
- 3 mm glass lid: the pens remain visible and protected from dust.
- Individual numbering and certificate of authenticity included with most models.
For collectors and retailers
At home, a lit display case becomes the focal point of a collection — something to look at, not just to store. In a shop or at a fair, it highlights the pens you want customers to notice, without having to open drawers or cases. If your collection is large and you want lighting in the drawers too, some pen cabinets are available with LED lighting.
To find out which pens are worth putting on display, read gold nibs: what determines the value of a fountain pen; all storage and display options are in the pens section.
Frequently asked questions
How many pens fit in an LED pen display case?
There are models for 13 pens (37×21 cm) and 20 pens (56.5×21 cm), plus a tilting model with 20 slots and an adjustable 45° tilt.
What is the adjustable tilt for?
It angles the pens towards the viewer, which is useful on a shop counter, at a fair, or on a table where the collection is viewed from above.
What is the difference from a display case without lighting?
The built-in LEDs highlight nibs, lacquer finishes and other details even in a dimly lit space. Cases without lighting are mainly for keeping pens organised and in view.
Are custom sizes available?
Yes, LED pen display cases can also be made to custom dimensions — get in touch specifying how many pens you want to display and the space you have available.
Are the cases individually numbered?
Almost all of them are: they are numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, as noted on each individual product page.
